Couples Cooking Class: Hong Kong

There’s something about cooking side by side with someone that turns an ordinary evening into something exciting, and that’s exactly what this night is built around. You and your partner will apron up and work together to create a full Hong Kong-inspired menu, exploring the flavors, aromas, and spices that make the cuisine so distinct. Once the cooking’s done, you’ll sit down together in one of our dining rooms and actually enjoy what you made. You’ll be cooking alongside other couples too, so it’s as much a chance to meet new people as it is a date night, with laughter, good food, and a room full of people equally invested in breading shimp. Wine and other beverages are available for purchase throughout the evening.

Curriculum

Amuse-bouche
A Chef’s creation to kick off the evening and set the tone for your journey into Hong Kong cuisine, a small, thoughtfully composed bite meant to wake up your palate before the real cooking begins.

Crab & Shrimp Croquettes
Breaded crab and shrimp, fried until golden and crisp on the outside, tender inside, and served with a selection of Chef-paired sauces to bring out different sides of the flavor.

Phoenix Nest Stir Fry
Taro root, chicken breast, stir-fried rice, and vegetables, all brought together in one dish where the taro forms a crisp, nest-like base for everything else to sit on. It’s a classic combination of textures as much as flavors.

Egg Tarts
A flaky, buttery pastry shell filled with a sweet, silky custard, baked until just set. It’s a Hong Kong bakery staple, and the perfect way to close out the meal on something light and comforting.

Couples cooking classes are $249+HST per couple. A $49 deposit is required today to reserve your spot, which is non-refundable. The remaining balance of $200+HST will be billed in-store on the day of your event, along with any additional food or beverages you purchase.
