Couples Cooking Class: Thai
October 30 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Join us for a Thai-inspired couples cooking class, where you and your partner will cook a full menu together with the help of our Chef instructor before sitting down to enjoy it. The evening includes crispy corn fritters, a rich Thai green curry, and mango sticky rice to finish. It's a hands-on date night built around bold, balanced flavours and good company.
About this Cooking Class
Thai cooking is a balancing act: sour against sweet, heat against cool, all in the same bite, and that balance is exactly what you’ll learn to build in this class. You and your partner will work together in the kitchen with the help of our chef instructor, putting together a menu that moves from crispy corn fritters to a rich, fragrant green curry. You’ll have the chance to spend time together and meet other couples along the way, cooking, mingling, and eventually sitting down together in one of our dining rooms to enjoy the meal as a group. Wine and other beverages are available for purchase throughout the evening.
Curriculum
A Chef’s creation to kick off the evening and set the tone for your journey into Thai cuisine, a small, thoughtfully composed bite meant to wake up your palate before the real cooking begins.
Corn Fritters
These start with sweet corn kernels bound into a light batter with fragrant kaffir lime leaves, then fried until the outside turns golden and crisp while the inside stays tender and a little sweet. They’re served with sweet chili sauce for balance and Thai red curry paste stirred through for depth, so every bite has that push and pull between sweet, savory, and heat that Thai food builds its whole identity around.
Thai Green Curry
Green curry gets its colour and its punch from a paste built on fresh green chilies, lemongrass, and galangal, which you’ll use to build a sauce with chicken thighs, carrots, eggplant, and snap peas, all simmered low and slow in coconut milk until the flavours fully come together. The coconut milk mellows the heat just enough to make it approachable without losing any of its complexity, and served over jasmine rice, it’s the kind of dish that tastes like it took far longer than it did.
Mango Sticky Rice
Glutinous rice gets steamed until tender, then folded with warm coconut milk until it turns rich and slightly sweet, the base for one of Thailand’s most iconic desserts. It’s finished with fresh mango and a scatter of toasted sesame seeds, the warm, creamy rice playing off the cool, bright fruit in a way that makes it feel both indulgent and refreshing at the same time.
