Foodie Skills: Breakfast Cookery

Chefs judge each other by how well they can cook an egg, and there’s a reason for that: it’s a deceptively small dish that leaves nowhere to hide. This cooking class builds a full breakfast experience around that idea, starting with the poach, moving into Eggs Benedict, and finishing with the sides that turn a good plate into a great one. You’ll learn to make hollandaise from scratch, and how to assemble a delicious Eggs Benny. Working alongside one of our professional chefs, you’ll leave able to put together the kind of breakfast worth setting an alarm for.

Curriculum

Egg-cellent Eggs
You’ll learn how to poach an egg the way professional kitchens do: a tight, tender white and a yolk that runs exactly when you want it to. It’s a fundamental technique that carries into everything from a simple breakfast to a composed dish.

Classic Eggs Benny
A restaurant favorite for chefs and diners alike.  This lesson pairs a perfectly poached egg with a rich, buttery hollandaise sauce, made entirely from scratch. You’ll understand exactly what’s happening as you create the sauce, which makes the whole process feel a lot more approachable.

Side Dishes
No breakfast is complete without the right sides, so we’ve got you covered with two: a potato side and a batter side like pancakes or waffles. You’ll come away with a couple of go-to recipes that round out any breakfast spread.
